Do I Have a Concussion? What to Do in the First 24–48 Hours
What Is a Concussion? A concussion is a type of mild traumatic brain injury caused by forces transmitted to the brain. That force may result from a direct blow to the head, but it can also occur after an impact elsewhere on the body that causes the head to accelerate, decelerate, or rotate rapidly. In other words, you do not necessarily have to hit your head to sustain a concussion.
This sudden movement can temporarily alter how the brain functions.
